Privacy Policy

Sim Racing Club (“SRC”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use and safeguard your personal data when you create an account and use the platform, in compliance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Effective date: 8 September 2026 · Data controller: Sim Racing Club · See also the Terms and Conditions.

1Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly, plus data generated automatically by the game servers:

  • Account data — username, email address, password, country of residence.
  • Gaming identifiers — Steam ID, Discord ID, or other platform identifiers needed to link your account to live game servers.
  • Telemetry and performance data — race results, lap times, incidents per corner, rating changes, safety-rating data and telemetry logs pulled automatically from our servers.
  • Communication data — the content of racing protests, appeals, and community messages.

2How we use your data

  • To perform our contract with you — creating your driver profile, managing championship entries, calculating SRC Rating / Safety Rating, and handling stewarding protests.
  • Legitimate interests — publishing race results, public leaderboards and steward decisions to maintain community transparency and competitive integrity.
  • Legal obligations — preventing fraud or platform abuse.

3Data transparency and public profiles

SRC is a competitive league platform. By registering an account you acknowledge and agree that the following is publicly visible on the website:

  • Your driver profile name, country and racing statistics (SRC Rating, Safety Rating, wins, podiums).
  • Your historical race results, telemetry logs and championship standings.
  • The text and verdicts of any public stewarding protests or appeals you are involved in.

4Data sharing and third parties

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with parties needed to run the platform:

  • Game server hosts — transmitting your Steam / platform ID to whitelist you for league races.
  • Infrastructure providers — web hosting, database management, and result-log retrieval services.

5Data retention

We keep your account profile data for as long as your account is active. Because historical race results and public standings feed the rating metrics of other drivers, historical results and public championship standings are permanently retained as archival records of the league.

6Your legal rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct or request erasure of your personal account data, and you may delete or request deletion of your account at any time. Note that deleting your account anonymises your profile, but historical race results and public steward logs remain to preserve championship integrity.
